For Small decals under 18” long, you can apply them directly to your car just like a sticker. We recommend that you apply all of your decals made by DECALKITS.com using the “Wet Application”.
Wet Application is when you mix 1 drop of liquid hand soap (Do not use dish soap!) in an empty spray bottle with water. The more soap you add, the longer it will take to dry and your decal may move.
If your decals come on a larger sheet, cut around the decal leaving some room for you to hold. Make sure the paper backing of your decal does not get wet while it is on your decal. This will ruin your decal! Remove the backing and spray down your decal. Remember, “The Wetter, The Better!”. Apply the decal to your vehicle where you want it. Take Blue Painter’s tape and tape your decal to your car. Now, take your squeegee (included in all purchases) and lightly squeegee out any water or air, applying more pressure as you go. Wait 5 – 10 minutes before remove the application tape and you are all set!
For Side Stripe Installations of sizes 8” x 75”, use the wet application method. Make sure you have two people for this one. You will need to cut around the decal, remove the paper backing, then inside of your house or garage spray down the back of the decal. Have your helper hold one end while you hold another. Carefully, bring the decal to your vehicle and apply. Squeegee out any bubbles and water, and wait 5 – 10 minutes.
Some decals may be cut to smaller sections and applied. This method may be easier if you are crossing doors, trim, etc. Align your decal to your vehicle and cut where you cross any breaks. Then, use the wet method to apply.
Got Bubbles? Take a pin and make a SMALL hole in the bubble. Lightly press around the bubble to remove any air or water that may be causing it. Take your squeegee and lightly go over the area one more time to smooth it out.
